Microsoft AJAX Team made the AJAX 4..0 Preview 4 release. This Release concentrating on client-side data manipulation with the support for integration with Web services and ADO.NET Data Services.
Note: This release replaces the previous previews 1, 2 and 3 as well as existing AJAX client library for ADO.NET Data Services.
This Release supports the following browsers
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 RC1
- Mozilla Firefox 2 and 3
- Apple Safari 3
- Opera 9.6
This release enables new client data scenarios for page and component developers to render the JSON Data from the server as HTML in efficient way.
Major Features
- Client-Side rendering using templates containing template engine for client development.
- Declarative Instantiation of client components the most convenient way of using is through DataView control.
- Live Bindings The controls are going to use one-time/one-way binding syntax: {{expression}}.
- Using the Observer Pattern with JavaScript Objects and Arrays
- Data View Control can bind to any Java Script object or array or to any ASP.NET AJAX Component.
